KNM (Kennis van de Nederlandse Maatschappij)
Learning goals & content
In the KNM course you will become acquainted with basic principles that underlie the Dutch society and politics, an introduction to the history, customs and culture of the Netherlands.
The KNM course include also a short training for the four other parts of the integration exams : listening, reading, speaking and writing
The course is suitable for anyone who has the Dutch language level A2
During the classes you will learn new vocabulary.
After successfully completing this course you are ready for all integration exams.
Time & Costs investment
The course consists of 12 sessions in 6 weeks, twice a week 90 minutes in group of 4-6 participants: €250,-.
The total class time with a tutor is 18 hours.
To ensure that you learn as much as possible from the meetings, we expect you to spend approximately twice as many hours doing homework than the number of teaching hours per week on self-study. You will of course receive teaching materials and assignments for this, which will be discussed during the meetings.
Method
We use as a teaching method the book “Welkom in Nederland” (€44,95). We also offer an online learning environment, where your teacher will offer free extra learning materials and you can hand in homework.
Practical information
Our tutors speak of course foreign languages but the language of instruction during the meetings is Dutch.
We count on everyone to have the materials with them for the first lesson and have paid for the course so that we can get off to a good start right away.
